Really, how many hours should you have to invest especially in a game where it’s down to dumb luck rather than the work you do. It creates a gulf between those that are starting out and have nothing to trade to those that only want a very few specific ultra rare/perfect items.į) You get lots of players defending their time invested or elite status with comments like “I found it so it’s not rare enough!”. D2 devolves into a few great builds, some ok builds, and a lot of skills no one ever uses.ĭ) Most players end up at a plateau, needing hours to grind to get to better stuff.Į) Every time the economy starts over there’s high demand for a range of items, then the items get found, value decreases, and the only thing people really want are the uber-rare or perfect items. ![]() Smiters farm ubers.Ĭ) Most skills are outclassed by other skills by the end game. Sorcs are the farmers of the game - at least until you get an enigma.ī) Other classes have specific builds that excel at something. They can get by on just skill points which allows them to kill for items easily, they have teleport which allows them to skip to the most lucrative sections, and best of all most of the sorc specific gear seems to further reward with mf mods. I’d submit that the following are widely accepted:Ī) Sorcs help you accumulate starting wealth. ![]() There’s “rare” and there’s “you need to grind hours without progress” rare. ![]()
